About Us
Boto restaurant and rooftop bar showcases the vibrant and diverse flavors of Brazilian cuisine complemented by an exquisite cocktail menu and a carefully curated wine list with a highlight on South American offerings.
Co-owned by renowned nightlife figure Johnny Metheny, aka Johnny Love, and Nick Bonney, a long-time fixture in the SF hospitality scene — both of whom bring a wealth of experience and passion to this exciting new venture. A native of Brazil, Executive Chef Lucas Freire has worked with the Epicurean Group in San Francisco, Petite Left Bank in Tiburon, and at renowned San Francisco establishments Prospect and Bouche.
Boto is named after the beloved pink dolphin of the Amazon River, a symbol of the restaurant’s vibrant and exotic atmosphere. The space includes an indoor dining area and spectacular outdoor rooftop bar with decor inspired by the lush Amazon rainforest, featuring rich greenery and South American flair. Weekend nights will transform the space into a lively club with music, dancing, and exquisitely crafted cocktails, creating an unforgettable nightlife experience.
